Chrome tucks new extensions away in its Extensions menu. Pin Roblox Game Filter so it's always one click away.
- Click the puzzle piece at the top right of Chrome, next to the address bar.
- Find Roblox Game Filter in the list and click the pin next to it.
- The Roblox Game Filter icon now sits in your toolbar. Click it any time to open the extension.

- Type a word into the Add Filter box, like free.
- Press Enter or click Add Filter.
- The word shows up under Active Filters, and any open Roblox page updates right away. No refresh needed.
Good to know
- A filter matches any part of a game's name, and capitals don't matter. free catches "FREE UGC Items", but also "Freedom Tycoon", so short words can catch more than you expect.
- Use the search box and sort menu in Active Filters to manage a long list.
- Click Remove to delete one filter, or Clear All to start over.
3. Pick a Display Mode
Open the Settings tab. Under Display Mode, choose what happens to filtered games.
Gray Out Default
Free Robux GeneratorFiltered games stay on the page, faded and grey. Click one and a Filtered Game Warning lists the keywords it matched. Press OK to open it anyway, or Cancel to stay where you are.
Hide
Filtered games disappear completely and the rest of the page closes the gap. Pick this if you never want to see them at all.
Not sure which to pick? Try both in the live demo.
Exclude and Include
Since version 1.21, every filter has its own mode. New filters start as Exclude, and you can switch any filter to Include from your Active Filters list.
- Exclude
- Games with the word in their name are filtered. This is what most people want.
- Include
- Only games with the word in their name are shown. Everything else is filtered.
- Both
- Include obby and Exclude free to see only obbies, minus the free-Robux ones.
Where It Filters
Filtering runs on these Roblox pages and keeps up as you scroll and as Roblox loads more games.
- Home
- Game rows, plus what your friends are playing.
- Charts
- Every sort on the Charts page, including the older Discover pages.
- Communities
- Games listed on a community's page.
- Game pages
- The recommended games below a game. If you open a filtered game directly, a banner at the top of its page shows which keywords it matched. Click × to dismiss it.
Friends Playing Filtered Games
The friends list on the Home page shows what each friend is playing. When that game matches a filter:
- In Hide mode, your friend just shows as online.
- In Gray Out mode, the game is greyed out with a ⚠︎ mark, and joining asks you to confirm first.
- To turn this off, go to Settings and set Friend Carousel Filtering to Disabled.
Pause Filtering
Want to see everything for a bit? In Settings, use Disable Filtering.
- Pick 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes or 1 hour, and filtering turns itself back on when time is up.
- Pick Pause until re-enabled to pause with no timer, or Custom time to set your own. Click Save as Preset to keep a custom time in the list.
- While paused, a timer shows what's left. Click Resume Filtering Early to turn it back on.
- Click Edit Presets to rename, reorder or delete the times in the list.
Back Up and Share Filters
Everything here lives in the Sharing tab.
- Export Filters
- Download your list as TXT (one word per line, easy to share), JSON without settings, or JSON with settings (also saves your display mode, friend filtering and pause presets). Tick Remember my choice to skip the question next time, or change it later in Settings under Default Export Format.
- Upload File
- Import a .txt file with one keyword per line, or a .json backup. Imports are checked and cleaned automatically, but only upload files from people you trust.
- Restore Backup
- Every time your filters change, the extension saves a backup. Pick one of your last three to undo a mistake.
Classic Theme
In Settings, click Change Theme to Classic to give the popup an older Roblox look. Click it again to switch back.
Troubleshooting
Nothing is being filtered
Refresh any Roblox tabs that were already open when you installed, since extensions can't reach pages opened before them. Then check that Disable Filtering in Settings says Filtering Active, and that you're on one of the supported pages.
A game I like got filtered
One of your filters matched part of its name. Click the game in Gray Out mode to see which keyword it was, then remove that filter or make it more specific.
My filters disappeared
Open the Sharing tab and click Restore Backup to bring back one of your recent backups.
